Profile

The purpose of this research team is to conduct studies that enhance the functional capacity, psychological well-being, quality of life, and living environment of older adults who require support or care, including those in advanced age. Additionally, we aim to translate our findings into societal benefits.

Our research focuses on three key themes: "Digital Transformation for an Aging Society," "Health Services Research," and "Social Inclusion Studies."

The specific goals of our team are:

  1. Early detection of physical and cognitive frailty through daily life monitoring using wearable devices.
  2. Developing community-based integrated care systems by analyzing medical and long-term care insurance receipt databases, as well as local government care needs surveys.
  3. Addressing the needs of older adults in complex and marginalized situations by identifying the formal support services necessary to assist them.

We conduct interdisciplinary research across both academic and practical fields, aligning with our institute's mission to support the community life of older adults.
